Your adventure begins as you board our 50-foot power catamaran and head for the clear waters of Maunalua Bay. As you ride out to your snorkeling spot, your group will enjoy excellent commentary from our captains and crew as they tell you all about the fish you’ll encounter while snorkeling, provide fun facts about the island, and point out unique landmarks.
Once you arrive at your diving location, the real fun begins! With our eco-friendly sub-scooters, you’ll experience the freedom of gliding underwater just like a majestic Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle.
Unlike traditional snorkeling, our sub-scooters allow you to breathe freely while being fully submerged. To get set up on the sub-scooter, you’ll hop in the water, where our crew will help you get safely seated and positioned. The scooter’s helmet works by creating a seal that traps air inside, similar to what happens if you lower an upside-down cup into to tub of water – air remains inside the cup.
Once you’re positioned on the scooter, you’ll be lowered 7-8 feet under the surface, always remaining tethered to the boat by a lead, and begin your self-propelled ride under the waves! Keep your eyes peeled for sea stars, octopi, blue tangs, and more!
When your 20-minute ride is done, your group will trade with the next riders. While each group is on the sub-scooter, the others can enjoy swimming or traditional snorkeling, or you can just relax on the sundeck and take in the sights.
Light refreshments and snorkeling gear are provided onboard. All you need to bring is something to swim in, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and sunglasses.
